IV Therapy
Nutrients Delivered Where Your Body Can Actually Use Them
You can eat the right foods, take the right supplements, and still come up short. Gut issues, chronic stress, inflammation, and absorption problems mean that what you swallow often isn’t what you actually get. IV therapy bypasses all of that. We deliver vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants straight into your bloodstream, so your cells have what they need to do their job.
At Olos Medicine, IV therapy isn’t a wellness trend or a quick fix. It’s a clinical tool we use thoughtfully, and it’s always built around what your body actually needs.
What is IV Therapy?
IV (intravenous) therapy is the process of delivering fluids, vitamins, minerals, and other therapeutic compounds directly into the bloodstream through a small IV line. Because it skips the digestive system entirely, your body has immediate access to much higher percentage of what’s being given. That’s a meaningful difference when you consider that oral supplements can lose a significant percentage of their potency before they ever reach your cells.
At Olos, we offer a range of IV formulations, from foundational hydration and vitamin blends to more targeted protocols for things like immune support, recovery, detoxification support, and energy. Every IV is administered by our clinical team in a calm, comfortable setting, and every formulation is chosen based on your specific needs, genetic makeup, lab work, and health goals.
How IV Therapy Works
When you come in for an IV, a trained nurse places a small catheter into a vein, usually in your arm or hand. The IV bag, which contains a carefully measured blend of nutrients in a sterile saline solution, is connected to the line and slowly drips into your bloodstream over the course of 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the protocol.
During that time, you’re free to relax, read, work, take a call, or just close your eyes. Most people find it to be one of the most restful parts of their week.
Because the nutrients are going straight into circulation, your body can start using them right away. There’s no waiting on digestion, no absorption loss, and no guessing whether your gut is cooperating that day.
Direct delivery. Nutrients bypass the digestive system entirely, going straight into your bloodstream where your body can put them to work immediately.
Higher absorption. Oral supplements lose much of their potency to digestion. IV therapy delivers nutrition directly to the bloodstream, which means smaller doses do more.
Customized protocols. Every IV is tailored to your specific needs, whether that’s energy, immune support, recovery, hydration, or a combination based on your labs and goals.
Comfortable and quick. Most sessions take 30 to 60 minutes in a relaxed setting. You’re free to read, work, or rest while it runs.
How IV Therapy Fits Into Functional Medicine
In functional medicine, we’re not interested in masking symptoms. We want to understand why something is happening and support your body in actually resolving it. IV therapy fits into that model because it gives us a way to correct nutrient deficiencies, support detoxification pathways, and give the body real raw materials to work with, all at a level that oral supplementation sometimes can’t reach.
If your labs show that you’re low in something your body needs to produce energy, fight inflammation, or repair tissue, we can address that directly. If you’re recovering from illness, surgery, or a long stretch of high stress, IV therapy can be part of getting you back to baseline faster. And if you’re already doing the work of eating well, sleeping, moving, and managing stress, IV therapy can be a powerful addition that helps you get more out of the foundation you’ve already built.
We don’t use IV therapy as a standalone solution. We use it as one piece of a larger, personalized plan.
IV Therapy May help people experiencing:
Chronic fatigue and low energy
Frequent illness or weakened immunity
Long COVID symptoms
Dysautonomia
Nutrient deficiencies despite eating well
Migraines and chronic headaches
Poor absorption from gut issues

What You May Feel During and After a Session
Most people feel calm and comfortable during the IV itself. You may notice a cool sensation as the fluid goes in, and depending on the formulation, a slight taste of vitamins (many people describe it as similar to B vitamins) toward the back of the throat. That’s completely normal.
After your session, most patients report feeling:
Better recovery from exercise
Some people feel the effects within an hour. Others notice a difference the next day, especially with better sleep and steadier energy. Results build with repeated sessions, particularly when you’re using IV therapy to correct a deeper deficiency or support a longer healing process.
As with any medical therapy, individual responses vary. We’ll talk with you before and after each session to understand how your body is responding and adjust as needed.
How IV Therapy Fits Into a Healing Plan
IV therapy at Olos is never a one-size-fits-all menu. Before we recommend any protocol, we look at your full picture: your history, your current symptoms, your labs, genetic makeup, and what you’re trying to accomplish. From there, we build a plan that may include a single IV, a short series, or ongoing sessions as part of a broader treatment strategy.
We often use IV therapy alongside other therapies we offer, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, PEMF, infrared sauna, and targeted supplementation and nutrition support. When these tools work together under one coordinated plan, the results are typically better and faster than any single intervention on its own.
If you’re a current patient, your provider will discuss whether IV therapy is appropriate for where you are in your care. If you’re new to Olos, we’ll start with either an abbreviated or comprehensive visit to understand your health and make sure any recommendation we make is the right one for you.
